Changes
in last year’s Federal Budget mean that eligible small businesses* may now claim an immediate deduction for individual equipment purchases up to $20,000,
instead of having to claim them as deductions over several years.
This means that small businesses will get an immediate tax deduction for any individual assets they buy costing less than $20,000. (Previously, the threshold
sat at $1,000).
This $20,000 limit applies to each individual item. Small businesses can apply this $20,000 rule to as many individual items as they wish.
Any equipment under $20,000 purchased for business use prior to June 30 will be fully deductible when filing company tax returns for the 2015/16 financial
year.
To make the deal even sweeter, we have slashed the price on a range of cooking equipment in the lead up to June 30! Visit us in-store,
or check out our online equipment sale to grab a fully deductible bargain!
*The $20,000 instant asset write off is available only to eligible small businesses with an annual turnover of less than $2,000,000. This information is
general in nature and does not take into account your circumstances. To find out more about eligibility criteria and the asset write-off, we recommend
consulting with your accountant. For more information, visit the ATO website.
